Currently, The Spectrum uses traditional file organization. They store data in paper files, contained by folders and filing cabinets. The issue with their current method of organization is that data can easily get out of order, it’s difficult to edit files or send information to others, and it takes time to access data. These issues only contribute to the overall exposure of the spectrum to it’s risk of not meeting it’s predetermined objectives. Thus, a more current and efficient information system could do a lot to add value to the venture. Using information technology, the Spectrum could establish a more concrete degree of communication, organization, and automation in all of its various departments.
More Specifically, with a database, the Spectrum could minimize all of their stated issues. It will be easier to keep track of past trends which will facilitate accurate forecasting within operations. The recruitment of new clients will be a much more organized process, thereby reducing recruitment redundancy. Current clients will enjoy the ability to control their specific and subscribed accounts by means of the internet. Most of all, The Spectrum would like to take advantage of the increased accessibility in regard to finding past clients quickly in order to see what ads they've run in the past, and when they did so.
